It's raining, I have a cold and I'm tired and plans keep changing around me. I'm over it.
But then there are the kids. They are often the author of my frustrations but what I love about my kids is that, more often that not, they are the ones that pull me out of my funk. Here are two brilliant examples.
I just sat on my biscuit and it died unceremoniously. At which point, one of the kids announces "Let's take a moment to morn the loss of the biscuit... He was a brave cookie." I laughed....lots.
Then there are the creative products that the kids are designing labels for at the moment (learning about layout and publishing). One product carries the warning "Avoid contact with pigs otherwise they will start speaking spanish and dancing the samba!"
I love my job!

Footsteps & Post-it Notes
Join me as I wander through the inner musings of my brain and the outer post-it notes of my Mac Dashboard and desk.
* * * *
When I look back at the teachers I had as a child and remember the impact they had, it scares me to think of the impact my footsteps have in the lives of my students.
At the same time, I love the footsteps that they leave in my own mind. Footsteps which time may fade, but which leave memories that will remain for years to come.
* * * *
And, in those moments when the impact of my own footsteps threatens to overwhelm me, footprints remind me of the one who walks beside me and carries me through the tough times.
Who Am I?
I'm a year 3-6 teacher in a small, rural, Christian character school in New Zealand.
I have a background in business, performance, ICT and events management and a love of kids, learning and teaching.

That is so funny. We should write a book of the funny things kids say. They make me laugh every day.
